Q: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don't like and LOVE it?
Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

The Genre for this series is Young Adult Paranormal Romance with a sci-fi element. I don't like reading sci-fi novels at all... not my thing! But Guardians of Vesturon Series is not what I expected at all - the 'aliens' aren't green with 3 eyes and four arms, they look like humans! The story line is great :)

Someone Else's Fairytaleby E.M Tippetts

When author Emily Mah Tippetts approached me in February to review the book, my first reaction was to say no, considering it was a chick lit. But, it being February, and with Valentine's Day approaching, I re-thought about it and decided, why not? Let me try something new, and it'll fit perfectly into the Valentine theme I can run on the blog. All I can say is that I really liked the book, and it opened a new genre for me, from which I would have run away earlier. I still may be averse to it, but am not allergic! And the added bonus? My interaction with Emily has been extremely wonderful and truly rewarding!

  1. I love chicklits, it's a new found genre for me too! Thank you for stopping by my blog and following me. I'm following you back have a great weekend!

  2. It's amazing, sometimes, what we can find when we try something a little different, huh?

  3. It's always wonderful when I try something new and find I actually like it :) Thanks for stopping by earlier.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! I admit, I don't read too much sci fi, either. There have been very few sci fi books I've read, and less I've really enjoyed. Ah well - glad you enjoyed this series! Now following you back via linky.

  5. I'm not much of sci-fi reader, but I'm always looking to expand my reading tastes so I'll have to check that series out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
    Following back via Linky :)

Thanks for checking out my FF - I'm now following you back! :)

  11. I'm very skeptical of chick-lit I have never been one to read it but recently I have tried and it was sort of a great read! Great pick!! Thanks for stopping by!

  12. I think that is why I am leery of Sci Fi too. I'm gonna have to check this series out though. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

  13. Oh, I haven't heard of these books but I do have a problem with Sci-Fi so this might be a nice read for me :)

  17. I'm not a huge sci-fi fan either but I sometimes find a book that I like!

Have an awesome weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog!! I am a new follower :)

  18. Hey gorgeous girl! Good to see you, correction, read messages from you again! I haven't heard of this series, but I suppose in our circles that's kinda the point of stepping outside the genre, isn't it? So what did you think of fifty shades? I'm going to post a review next week - I think I might be enraptured by this crazy, mixed up, sexually-charged world of Christian Grey. Anyway, you know me, old follower. Have a great weekend. ooh, BTW - your blog is looking super sexy these days, well done you!

  19. Not much of a Sci-Fi or YA fan but I did enjoy The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. Maybe it was the serial killer plot that got me hooked.

Thanks for stopping by and I'm following back.
