Q: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don't like and LOVE it?
Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

The Genre for this series is Young Adult Paranormal Romance with a sci-fi element. I don't like reading sci-fi novels at all... not my thing! But Guardians of Vesturon Series is not what I expected at all - the 'aliens' aren't green with 3 eyes and four arms, they look like humans! The story line is great :)

Someone Else's Fairytaleby E.M Tippetts

When author Emily Mah Tippetts approached me in February to review the book, my first reaction was to say no, considering it was a chick lit. But, it being February, and with Valentine's Day approaching, I re-thought about it and decided, why not? Let me try something new, and it'll fit perfectly into the Valentine theme I can run on the blog. All I can say is that I really liked the book, and it opened a new genre for me, from which I would have run away earlier. I still may be averse to it, but am not allergic! And the added bonus? My interaction with Emily has been extremely wonderful and truly rewarding!

  4. Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! I admit, I don't read too much sci fi, either. There have been very few sci fi books I've read, and less I've really enjoyed. Ah well - glad you enjoyed this series! Now following you back via linky.

  18. Hey gorgeous girl! Good to see you, correction, read messages from you again! I haven't heard of this series, but I suppose in our circles that's kinda the point of stepping outside the genre, isn't it? So what did you think of fifty shades? I'm going to post a review next week - I think I might be enraptured by this crazy, mixed up, sexually-charged world of Christian Grey. Anyway, you know me, old follower. Have a great weekend. ooh, BTW - your blog is looking super sexy these days, well done you!

  19. Not much of a Sci-Fi or YA fan but I did enjoy The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. Maybe it was the serial killer plot that got me hooked.

Thanks for stopping by and I'm following back.
